Description
A former super model is given evidence of her husband’s infidelity and decides to take matters into her own hands with some help. Unexpectedly, her fellow victim fulfills a need in her life which has gone unmet since childhood and nobody else cared enough about her to provide. Later, they provide some support to other victims who develop their own solutions. A love story of second chances.
A peek inside:
“You were right when you said I could have any man I wanted because when I was younger, I set out to do that. It wasn’t that I wanted them as individuals, but they were considered the studs, or the movers and shakers, or the most eligible, or the cream of the crop, or the wealthiest, or whatever other designation made them desirable to women and I made the effort to attract them to prove to those around me that I had the ‘right stuff’. I didn’t spend much time with any of them because I noticed how some of my fellow models would latch onto a guy for awhile until the next pretty face distracted him and my fellow model would be crushed because she was no longer ‘good enough’.
“After awhile, I realized that none of those guys cared about me as a person. I was simply a trophy for them to display, or a conquest for them to brag about, or a desirable body for them to use only for their own benefit. So I started looking more carefully to see if someone cared about me as an individual and when my ‘husband’ seemed to care about me in the only way that I knew of at the time by wining and dining me and telling me wonderful things, I fell for him and it took me even longer to see that he wasn’t any different than any of the others except that he was a more convincing ‘actor’.
“For quite awhile before I became a ‘widow’ and since then, I’ve done a lot of thinking about my life and myself. Maybe you aren’t a stud, or have the physique of a Greek god, or are rich and famous, or anything else that women consider desirable in a man, but you do have something which none of them had, you treat me with respect as a valuable person.
“None of the other so-called desirable men who used my body would have ever considered putting a tissue . . . so I wouldn’t have a mess to clean up later. But you had the courtesy to do so and I believe you when you say you would have even washed me. None of them would have touched me so long and gently like you did yesterday evening without insisting on squirting their semen into me in one hole or another. But you not only resisted your own desire, you resisted my direct request because you didn’t think it was appropriate at the moment.
“I don’t know how to express to you how much it means to me that you’re willing to treat me with the respect, courtesy, and gentleness which no other man has ever shown me. I don’t know if I can claim to love you, but compared to those who have meaninglessly spouted that word, you have shown me more love than all of them combined. . . .”
. . . She pauses a little while in thought then says, “Doug, I would like to point out some proof of what I was saying about how you treat me and how special that makes me feel compared to all of the other men I’ve had to endure.”
“Oh?”
“Yes. Here I am sitting within your reach for a long time while I’m only wearing a thin nightgown and you haven’t made a single attempt to touch me more than to hug and kiss me.”
He hesitates then says, “I’m just trying to treat you like I think a woman ought to be treated so I don’t see how that makes me special. . . . I suppose another way to look at it is that I’m trying to treat you in a manner similar to how I would want to be treated if our roles were reversed.”
Her eyes widen in surprise at that idea then she nods her head as she responds, “That makes a lot of sense and I greatly appreciate that you feel and think that way. But let me assure you, men do not treat women with respect, courtesy, and gentleness, at least from my experience. . . .”
